HAPPENINGS

Well done and good luck to Judy Scholz for her new role as a member elect of the board of directors of Port City Bowling Club.
Melbourne Cup day is coming up quickly. The sheet is now on the board. It should start around 10am. Nibbles will be provided, you will have to buy your own lunch.

Minor singles will be played next week 24 October, games have been drawn and players should check the board for more info. Play begins at 9am. Losers will be required to mark the next game.

We really need more help with meals on wheels. It will only take a couple of hours of your time once or twice every couple of months. See Robyn Biddle if you are interested in donating your time to help the elderly in our community.

It’s a bit concerning that there are not enough players for Thursday games. If anyone has any suggestions how to keep it going, please talk to anyone on the committee.

Twilight bowls is starting again on Thursday evenings with a 6pm start. The first game will be played on 19 October. It will be a jack attack triples format and should be a lot of fun. Cost will be $10pp.

Welfare: Anne Connell is undergoing treatment and would like some phone calls and visits. Barbara Barrett, Ettie Hodgson, Fay Martin, Helen Cooper, Debbie Amor and Margaret Doyle are all back on track.
