Kew Men’s Bowls News.

30 bowlers from the Lorn Park club will play in our Friday jackpot triples we hope to have enough teams from Kew to play against our visitors so please get your entry in early so we can get the draw organized.

The mixed pairs has arrived at the pointy end of the competition with last of round games being played and the winners so far Doreen Barr and Reggie Robb def Teresa Wise and Wayne Thrussell, Leonie Murphy and Dean Gemmell def Chicka and Kim Thompson, Wendy and Barrie Isaac def Irene Creed and Rocky Davis, Jean Donald and Bill O’Donnell def Betty Jorgenson and Doug Long the semi-final will be Jean and Bill v Doreen and Reggie while Leonie and Dean will play Wendy and Barrie.

Wednesday social and Frank Raczka, Pat O’Connor and George Wise were the winners with Ian Hodgkinson and Paul Hancox taking the minor prize. Vouchers went to Tony Austin, John (can’t win a prize) Gemmell, Reggie Robb, Rod Sutton, Jeff Nichols and a special prize that was won by Mick Ashford that he said he would not take so the scribe ended up with the Chicken Tonight thanks Mick.

Saturday cashpot triples and the winners for the afternoon were 1st Gary Ruprecht, Mick Ashford and Steady Eddie McPhee, 2nd Jeff Nichols, Warren Barnes and Ray Allan and 3rd Daryle Barr, Bob Kennett and Budgie Brecard. Vouchers went to Ron Hale, Eddie McPhee, Terry Stringer and Percy Fry.

An early reminder for  Presentation day and Christmas party to be held at the club on the 9^th of December starting at 4pm no bowls to be played please bring along your wife or partner not both as we don’t want any rows. There will be some top line acts for your entertainment so put your names on the list on the board for catering purposes.
Don’t forget to get a team together for the Monday Monthly Pairs on the 6^th of November men, women or mixed come along and enjoy a day on the greens.
