HAPPENINGS

We had a great turnout today considering the unpleasant weather with 40 social members and 4 consistency singles players.

We are still looking for teams to play in Bowls for Boobs beginning this Saturday 13th of October. It will be played over 24 hours and all proceeds will go to the Aussie dragonflies (a group of breast cancer survivors) and Hastings Cancer Trust, there will be plenty of great prizes. So why not get a team (3) together. Entry is $75 per team. See Phil in the bowls office for more information.

Don’t forget to vote for the board of directors. Voting will close 6pm this Thursday 12 October. It is important for everyone to have a vote.

Twilight bowls is starting again on Thursday evenings with a 6pm start. The first game will be played on 19 October. It will be a jack attack triples format and should be a lot of fun. Cost will be $10pp.

Melbourne Cup day is coming up quickly. The sheet is now on the board. It should start around 10am. Nibbles will be provided, you will have to buy your own lunch.

We need acts for the Christmas concert. If you are interested see Judy Brady.

Don’t forget to put your name down for Pennants we will have to finalise the teams by the end of October. Teams from 1 to 5 will be represented.

Pick up your flyers for Encouragement Day to be played in November. It is open to all players with less than 6 years’ experience. We would like to thank our sponsor John Oxley Motors for making this day possible.
