Port City MBC Newsletter



The Port City Men's Bowling Club newsletter for January 2018 is now available with thanks to Colin Halls.

As most of you would be aware Jack Lewis has joined the Engadine Cougars to further his bowling and professional career. We wish Jack all the best.

Some upcoming events at Port City –

February 9th sees the Hastings Relay for Life event launch. There will be a barefoot bowls party 6 – 8 pm.

Easter Carnival – March 31 – April 2nd.
2 bowl handicap triples – May 16 – 18th
Port Macquarie mixed pairs – June 8 – 9-10.
Jax Tyres Grade 6 & 7 2 bowl triples, June 15 – 16 -17
Port Kia Prestige Pairs – July 11 – 12 – 13.

Change in the social bowls prizes. We have changed from the voucher system to a cash prize. This is to save on printing costs. Prizes have been increased and will now be – winners $20, runners up $10 and lucky losers also $10

The calendar for January and February is on the notice board. If anyone requires the full year calendar, please see Phil.

Pennants 2018 – Starting date is April 28th, but the format is yet to be decided by the zone. To assist the selectors, an “unavailability list” is on the board. Please put your name down for the days in which you are unavailable.
Green fees for pennants/trials have been set at $5.

Approved Club Championships 2018. There is a notice on the board,” Format & entry requirements”. Please read this carefully as there have been a number of changes.

Talking of the notice board, a big thank you to Nev Schwartz who has replaced the old board, with a new larger board.
