WEEK ENDING SUNDAY 14TH
JANUARY
Overall winners of the
January Classic Pairs Tournament on Wednesday were Steve Clancy and Mike Rand.
Second prize went to Mark Hammond and Gary Martin; Charles Duthie and Peter Ascot-Evans
third; Andy Lloyd and Gary McLoughlin fourth; and Wal Whitely and Craig Troth 5th.
Dennis Hamilton and Ray Downes were consoled with the consolation prize.

The following teams
have progressed to the next round of the Major Pairs Championship; Geoff Worley
and Phil Smith; Gary Blackler and Denis Begley; Steve Phelp and Brett Meyer;
Gary Knox and John Atkins; and Dennis Hamilton and Dick Croft.
Monday’s social bowls
saw Peter Slattery, Ken Taylor and Les Perry winners with Ken Norberry, Marion
Kelly and Derek Wright the lucky losers.
On Thursday the winners
were Terry McHugh, Glenn Ferris, Richard Croft and Doug Rose; runners-up were
Keith Miller, Reg Penney and Alan Jackson; lucky losers were Allan Bigg, Derek
Wright and George Barnes.
Brian Sloggett and John
Morgan were Saturday’s winners and not so lucky to lose were Graham Bateman and
Glenn Tiley.
