Kew Men’s Bowls News.

President Barrie and the committee wish everyone a safe and prosperous Happy New Year.

Kew Country Club will be hosting a Memorial Bowls Day featuring the Ken Kinman Shield on Saturday the 17th of February starting at 9am. Over $2,000 in prize money on offer 1st place $900, 2nd $600, 3rd $300 and 4th $140. $60 entry fee per team which can be men, women or mixed a BBQ lunch is included in your entry fee entries close on the 10th of February. The format will be two games of 3 bowl triples 15 ends and there will be a lucky draw of $60. There will be a $2 entry into $200, Tony Jack shootout players will bowl diagonally across the green to the jack in the far corner, winner takes all. Come along and help celebrate past members and have and have a great time with the friendly Kew mob.

December 29th the Friday jackpot remained in the bank keeping the smile on treasurer Marks face, winning rink Charles Doyle, Mick Stuttard and Denis Chiddy, runner up Reggie Robb, Trevor Robb and Dean Gemmell. Vouchers went to Ian Hilton, Doug Long, Trevor Boyle and Barrie Isaac an extra prize was donated by Ian Poole a seafood tray won by Phil Collins.

Wednesday social and Jimmy Race, Paul Hancox and Peter laing picked up the winners money, with Chicka Thompson, Dave Napper and Terry Stringer taking home the runner up prize. Vouchers went to Dave Napper, Chicka Thompson, Ron Hale and Doug Long.

Wednesday social and Saturday cashpot triples are the bowls this week names in by 11.30 12.30 start both days mufti dress all welcome.
