The first round of the major pairs is just about completed with wins to John and Dean Gemmell over Bill O’Donnell and Kevin Wholohan, Gary Ruprecht and Barrie Isaac over Warren Barnes and Ray Allan, Doug Long and John Smith over Peter Griffith and Mick Stuttard, Jeff Nichols and Rob Edwards over Howard Burrows and Mick Ashford and Paul Cini and Denis Chiddy over Chicka Thompson and Phil Collins.

The Friday jackpot is safe again but the second prize of $150 went off and the lucky winners were Ian Hilton, Rod Sutton and Max Blair. Voucher winners were Howard Burrows, Ian Poole, Trevor Robb and Chicka Thompson.

Kew Country Club will be hosting a Memorial Bowls Day featuring the Ken Kinman Shield on Saturday the 17th of February starting at 9am. Over $2,000 in prize money on offer 1st place $900, 2nd $600, 3rd $300 and 4th $140. $60 entry fee per team which can be men, women or mixed a BBQ lunch is included in your entry fee entries close on the 10th of February. The format will be two games of 3 bowl triples 15 ends and there will be a lucky draw of $60. There will be a $2 entry into $200, Tony Jack shootout players will bowl diagonally across the green to the jack in the far corner and winner takes all. Come along and help celebrate past members and have and have a great time with the friendly Kew crew.

The Monday Monthly Pairs will start again on February 5th so grab a mate and enjoy a day on the greens with a chance to pick some handy cash to pay the light bill.

Wednesday social and picking up the cash was Frank Raczka, Bob Young and Peter Laing, taking the runner up prize was Jeff Nichols, Warren Bates and Terry Duff. Vouchers went to John Brown, Terry Stringer, John Gemmell and Rod Sutton.

Wednesday social and Saturday cashpot triples are the bowls this week names in by 11.30 12.30 start both days mufti dress all welcome.
