Monday monthly pairs will be on February the 7th if we get enough teams to make the day worthwhile we need 20 teams so if we want to have this tournament the first Monday of the month please get your nomination in soon so that we can keep this event open it is open to all bowlers Men, Women or mixed.
Kew Country Club will be hosting a Memorial Bowls Day featuring the Ken Kinman Shield on Saturday the 17th of February starting at 9am. Over $2,000 in prize money on offer 1st place $900, 2nd $600, 3rd $300 and 4th $140. $60 entry fee per team which can be men, women or mixed a BBQ lunch is included in your entry fee entries close on the 10th of February. The format will be two games of 3 bowl triples 15 ends and there will be a lucky draw of $60. There will be a $2 entry into $200 the Tony Jack shootout players will bowl diagonally across the green to the jack in the far corner and winner takes all. Dress will be mufti so come along and help celebrate past members and have and have a great time with the friendly Kew Crew.
Quite a few games have been played in the major pairs with some very close matches being contested and an upset or to along the way here are the results so far John and Dean Gemmell def John Brown and Rocky Davis, Ernie and Gary Martin def Dave Napper and Charles Doyle, Paul Cini and Denis Chiddy def Reggie and Trevor Robb, Peter Laing and Terry Stringer def Ron Hale and Ian McLaren, Paul Hancox and Pat O’Connor def Ian Poole and Mark Hammond and Graeme Martin and Dave Herman def Jeff Nichols and Rob Edwards.
It was a good day for the Gemmell’s on Wednesday winning their championship pairs match and also picking up the winning rink prize, the runner up cash went to Leslie Faulstone and Reggie Robb. Voucher winners were Ian Hodgkinson, Paul Hancox, Stewart Wellard, Kerrie Deas, Charles Doyle Reg Robb and Dan the man Thomas.
Wednesday social and Saturday cashpot triples are the bowls this week names in by 11.30 12.30 start both days mufti dress all welcome.
