Saturday saw the first round of pennants only two venues were playable Waughope where the sevens went down to Waughope 9 ½ to a ½ in the other game at Kew the fours were successful against Westport in a very tight finish 8 ½ to 1 ½. The ones and sixes were washed out and will be played at a date to be set. On Saturday May 5th the ones home to South West Rocks, fours will travel to Port City, sixes home to Comboyne and sevens home to Westport. Please tick your name off the side you are chosen in if unavailable please let the selectors know.
Terry Duff had a great day on Wednesday he defeated Ray Allan in the semi-final of the major singles and will face Kevin Wholohan in the final to be played at 9am on Wednesday and he won the winning rink well done Terry Best of luck to you and Kevin in the final. The runner up on Wednesday was Ron Hale and Warren Barnes. Vouchers went to Rob Edwards, Charles Doyle Peter Laing, Frank Raczka and Brian Charters.
A new format has been devised for the Monday Monthly Pairs this will start from Monday the 7th of May $700 guaranteed prize money and the jackpot on the 7th is $400. Two games of 18 ends first place with2 wins and the most ends $250, second 2 wins and the next amount of ends $150, 3rd one win one loss plus the most ends $120, 4th 1win 1loss plus the next amount of ends $80, 5th 2 losses $60 with the most ends and 6th 2 losses and the next amount of ends $40. All clubs are invited to enter with a chance to win some loot and enjoy the Kew Clubs friendly hospitality.
The first game in the club fours was also played on Wednesday Howard Burrows, John Gemmell, Mick Ashford and Barrie Isaac def Reggie Robb, Adrian Hilton, Terry Stringer and Trevor Robb two more games of fours were played over the weekend John Brown, Dave Mark Hammond, Terry Miles and Rocky Davis def Frank Raczka, Terry Duff, Charles Doyle and Dean Gemmell, Gary Cheers, Peter Griffith, Gary Hamilton and Kevin Wholohan def Adrian Hilton, Warren Barnes, Bindi Notara and Gerry Ludford.
