WESTPORT WOMEN’S BOWLING CLUB

REPORT FOR TUESDAY 16^th May, 2017

TUESDAY MORNING MIXED BOWLS – Tuesday bowls - 9.30am start – Uniform or neat casual. Welcome all members and visitors to this competition. Come along and enjoy a pleasant morning of bowls with a happy group of players. Margaret and Ron Coombes can be contacted on 6581 3264 or 0422816063 if you would like to come and enjoy a morning game of bowls. All visitors welcome. Bowlers to meet upstairs at the Club in the Community room before bowls. Winners were Judy Taylor, Pat Cummins, Kevin McMurtrie and Rickey Moore. Raffle winners Carol Chandler and Neville Burley. Jackpot no won.

REPORT FOR THURSDAY 18^th MAY, 2017

THURSDAY MORNING LADIES DAY – 9.30am start –Uniform. Selectors for Thursday 25^th Colleen Purnell (65840396).  Water and flag roster Bev Cross and Bette Whiting.  Thank you to Debbie from Perfect Nails by Debbie for her ongoing support. Winners on rink 11 were Bette Whiting and Anna Zhao. Runners up on Rink 12 were Bev Bales, Lesley Godson and Therese Emery. Jackpot not won. Raffle winners Joy Hindson and Colleen Jukes. Majority of our members attended the funeral of our dear bowling friend Pat Lakey.

REMINDERS:

1. Next Quarterly Meeting – 25^th May, 2017 at 1.30pm

2. Closing date for our Major Fours Monday 29^th May with the first round on Wednesday 7^th June.

3. Closing date for our Mixed Pairs carnival is Friday 26^th May, only a few rinks left to fill.

AUGUST CARNIVAL:

Unfortunately we have to change our August Carnival to one day only. This will be Thursday 10^th August, 2017. Brochures have been sent out and one emailed to Brian Smith to attach to this report. TWO DAY MIXED PAIRS CARNIVAL JUNE 2017

On Saturday 3^rd June, 2017 and Sunday 4^th June 2017, we are holding a two day Mixed Pairs carnival with prize money of $5000.  Entry fee will be $80 per team for the two days.
