The Future of
Lawn Bowls at Port City. By now most of you would have a copy of the notice
issued by the committee. There is one on the notice board and additional copies
are available from the committee.
Primarily this
has been brought about by Bowls NSW and Zone 14 adopting the Fixed Fee Structure
(FFS). The new arrangements came into play on January 1st so most of
you will be familiar with the new set up. Some initiatives in play are three
prizes on all social days, pennant game fees paid for 2017, including trial
games.
When the new bowls kiosk is installed, members will swipe their cards
when paying game day fees, and accumulate points on their card ( as when making
bar/food purchases). When sufficient points have been accumulated, members can
use these points to pay for game day fees. As the year unfolds new initiatives
will be unveiled, which will reward and thank members for their loyalty.
The number
three green which underwent a total rebuild is coming along nicely and should
be back in play soon.
Sunday 22nd
January is the annual Terry Kelly memorial day. Bowls at 9.30 followed by
lunch. Cost is $10. This is always a popular and well supported day run by our
travelling bowlers.
The 2017 LNC
representation nomination sheet ( Southern Section ) is on the board. First
selection trial will be held at Port Panthers on Saturday February 4th
at 9am. There are open and over 60’s divisions and intending players should
indicate their preferred playing position.
