Glen Hayes and Peter Butler were the winners in the Tuesday afternoon social bowls. The runners up were Geoff Bynon and Ken Whittaker with the consolation prize going to Tom Thrussell and Brian King.
Gerard
Grovenor - Ken Dinham and Garry Heggie were the winners in the Thursday
afternoon social bowls. The runners up were Terry Merchant - Jeff Hayes and
Graham Barry with the consolation prize going to Col Temple - Jack Shales and
Ray Mace.
Flo
King - Sarah Missio and Brian King were the winners in the Saturday afternoon
bowls.
Thursday
is Men’s Triples - Casual dress with a 1pm start.
Saturday
is Mixed Triples - Casual dress with a 1pm start.
Tuesday
is Men's Pairs - Casual dress with a 1pm start.
An
in house pennant trial will be held this Saturday, 14th Jan and players are
asked to tick their names asap. An "Unavailable" sheet is also on the
board and players are asked to fill this in if they know they will be away.
Nominations
are open for our "Handicap Fours" championship. Teams must have a
minimum of 16 points based on their current pennant grading.
Results
of 100 club 245 drawn on the 22nd Dec are: - 1st No 57 John O'Neill,
2nd No 53 Fred Wollaston and 3rd No 82 Fred Wollaston. Members are
advised that 100 club tickets which cost $2.00 each are on sale all week with 1st
prize getting $60.00, second $30.00 and third $10.00. 100 club 246 will be
drawn once all numbers are sold.
Members
are reminded that the “Bowlers Friday Night Raffle” is on again this Friday at
the Hibbard Sports Club with tickets on sale from 5pm and the draw commencing
at 6pm. There will be 22 great meat trays as prizes supplied by Hastings Fresh
Meats and the cash jackpot will be worth $120.00 this week if won.
