The latest news report follows with thanks to Ray Downes.
Monday bowls continues to grow. Is it because of the fun
playing triples or the barbecue lunch? In any case, it is good to see more
people out there enjoying themselves. Ron Spinks, Graham Fairburn and Bernard
Verkuylen were winners last Monday while D. Rose, Warren Taylor and Peter
Slattery were lucky losers.
110 players took to the
greens on Thursday. There could have been more but with one green out there was
nowhere for them to play. Our bowls organizer was smiling. Well done Keith, it
must be you. Hilton Hadfield, Pete Richards and Ross Creed were the stand-out
winners closely followed by Keith Woods, T. Nixon, Steve Townsend and Geoff
Worley. K. Worberry, Graham Platt, Peter Teiffel and Geoff Howard were the
lucky losers.
On Saturday we had a
friendly and most enjoyable Pennant Trial game against Kew. To keep it friendly
we will call it a draw. On the social side of the day Danny Murray and Allan
‘Jacko’ Jackson were winners. Les Perry
and Graham Fairburn were happy to lose.
The Minor Singles draw
has been done so check to see who your opponent is and arrange your game.
