Kew Men’s Bowls News.

Great weather and 24 teams made for a very successful Classic Fours with the prize money being shared between teams from all over the area. In first place was the team led by Graham Conan well supported by Les Allport, Bill O’Donnell and John Davidson, 2nd Gary Cheers, John Brown, Gary Hamilton and John O’Neill, 3rd Eric Rowsell, John Williams, Neil McCudden and Col Young, 4th Peter Hurrell, Mark O’Neill, Wayne O’Neill and Mitch Williams and 5th Gary Ruprecht, Stewart Wellard, Kevin Wholohan and Terry Miles. First round winners Mick Ashford’s team and S Latham’s team, 2nd round Doug Palmer and team, 3rd round Gary McLacuhlin’s team and Fluffy Balaam’s team and 4th round Peter Laing’s team. Congratulations to all the winners. A special thank you to the ladies who helped with morning tea and lunch, Lynell and staff in the kitchen the bar staff, Kim Thompson for keeping the score board up to date and Doreen Barr and Wendy Isaac for filling in for where needed in teams that was short a player.

The Friday jackpot is still in the bank and will be worth $224 on the 10th of August. Rink winners were Gary Ruprecht, Rocky Davis and Barrie Isaac, the runner up prize went to Carl Young, Jeff Nichols and big Kev Wholohan. Voucher winners were Bill Bailey, Kev Wholohan, Leslie Faulstone and George Ganic.

Wednesday social and heading out the door with the bickies was John Ockers, Bob Sims and Gary Hamilton, the runner up loot went to John Hilton, Rod Sutton and Phil Collins. Voucher winners were Dan Thomas, Leslie Faulstone, Peter Richards and Ian Poole.

To all members of the Kew Bowling club the AGM for 2018 will be held on Saturday the 11th of August at 10am at the Kew Country Club followed by an afternoon of bowls to thank all of our pennant players for their commitment and effort in 2018. Members are also invited to get involved in the running of the club as all positions on the board will be declared open please see Dave Napper for the nomination forms there will be a sheet on the board for those who will be attending please help by getting your name on the list ASAP to help with catering.

Monday Monthly pairs are played on the first Monday of the month and to keep this day going we need some support from all the clubs in the area so if you can get a mate come on out to Kew and have a great day on the green at the friendly club.

The minor singles draw is on the board please check when you are to play as there are a lot of games to get through.

Wednesday social is the bowls this week names in by 11.30 12.30 start mufti dress all welcome.
