WEEK ENDING SUNDAY 13TH MAY

Round three games of the Minor Singles Championship have been completed. Bob Hoban defeated Bob Kohut, Paul Dewson defeated George Barnes, Denis Begley defeated Bill Mahon and Ray Downes defeated Phil Innes.

In the semi-finals Denis Begley will play Bob Hoban and Paul Dewson will play Ray Downes, most likely on Friday morning. Good luck and good bowling to all players.

Pennant results were mixed; Grade 3 won 10-0 against Port Panthers; Grade 4 won 91/2-1/2 against Kew; Grade 5 went down 0-10 to South West Rocks and Grade 7 lost 1-9 to Kew. Grade 6 had a well-deserved bye.

John Gillett was tackled heavily at South West Rocks and may have broken a rib or two. Hope that you are back in the scrum soon John.

On Monday Peter Ascot-Evans, Charles Duthie and Joan Quinlan were the rink winners and Graham Wiggins, Marion Kelly and Derek Wright lost but won some money.
John Morgan, Brian Sloggett and Rob Edwards were winners; Tom Reeves, Phil Innes and Ron Allen were runners-up; and Peter Coxon, Alan (Jacko) Jackson and Peter Teiffel were lucky losers.
