Weekly News

Welcome to our new player Helen Ross and welcome back to Carol White.

If you are not sure what to wear for social bowls our dress policy is on the notice board.

New lightweight jackets will be ordered this week. The order sheet is on the notice board. It is worthwhile to try one on for sizing beforehand.

There has been a request that score boards to be made nice and clear so spectators can distinguish who is playing from the far end.

Nominations for pennants are now open; they will begin in March 2019. There will be around two pennant games per week.

Entry for consistency singles is now open. The sheet is on the board (play starts on Oct 2). Bowls closest to the jack will receive 10 points and the first to 150 wins.

There are a few carnivals coming up, to look out for.

Wauchope Floral Festival 6 September, Lake Cathie Spring Carnival on 10 September, Port Panthers 3 Bowl Carnival 14 September, Kempsey Heights pairs on 18 September and our “Turnaround Triples for Four” carnival on 17-18 September.

Sunday, 9 September, at 9.30am our Travelling Bowlers will be coordinating a fundraiser for the Drought Relief Appeal. Sheets are on the noticeboard for triples teams – ladies, men, or mixed. Cost is $20/head which includes green fees, and lunch. There will be some fantastic raffle prizes so get your team together! There will be no Sunday afternoon bowls on this day so that all our members can participate in the fundraiser.
