Port City Men's August Newsletter


The Port City Men's Bowling Club newsletter for August 2017 is now available with thanks to Colin Halls.

Congratulations to the new committee confirmed at the AGM. Welcome to newcomers Tony and Les and thanks to outgoing members Greg Keft and Dave Pascoe for their input.
Pennant wrap up – In the sectional play our grade 1 won 1 and lost 2 while in grade 2 they won 2 and narrowly lost 1. A great effort by both teams.
Winners of the state pennant finals were Grade 1) Cabramatta. 2) Mona Vale. 3) Taren Point ( def Kempsey RSL in final). 4)Nyngan. 5) Bargo. 6)Taree Railway ( def Kempsey RSL in final). 7) Woy Woy.
Great to see country side getting a share of the spoils. 

Entries are open for the club minor pairs, and close 26th August. September 9-10-11, Port City is hosting the state interzone championships, 96 players plus officials etc. Your committee is looking for helpers for this prestigious event ( catering, meet and greet etc). If you can assist for a few hours on any of these days please see a committee member. 

The new jackets are in – see Phil to purchase one while they are on special.
BPL ( Bowls Premier League) Cup is coming to Port City. This is a pathway event, giving players a chance to progress through regional, state and national levels. Commencement date is August 27th. A flyer is on the board, see Phil for further info. 
The 2017 club singles champion is Callum Murray who defeated Bruce Anderson in a high class final.
