Saturday morning saw the final of the major singles between Barrie Isaac and Charles Doyle and what a fitting final it was with Barrie in front and Charles chasing this went on for almost 4 hours before the winner could be declared Barrie got the nod defeating Charles 31/28 both players deserve congratulations for making the final and playing the game the way it should be played.
Results of Monday monthly pairs and taking home the money to help with the power bill was Kevin Wholohan and Bill O’Donnell 1st, 2nd Les Morrison and Gary Martin, 3rd Andy Lloyd and Gary McLaughlin, 4th Gary Hamilton and Mick Stuttard and 5th Les Alport and Graham Conan. Congratulations to all winners.
Wednesday social and winners were Oscar “birthday boy” Garland, Ian Hodgkinson and Rod Sutton, the runner up prize went to Carl Young, Tony Austin and Ross Bate. Voucher winners Ray Allan, Brian Davies, Ross Bate and Mark Hammond. There was two games of minor singles played Rod Sutton def Reggie Robb and Wayne Thrussell def Bob Sims.
The Friday jackpot did not go off and will be worth $342 on Friday 25th of August. Rink winner was Brian Charters, Ross Harris and Rob Edwards, runners up Ian Poole, Dave Napper and Peter Laing. Vouchers went to Douggie Long, Ray Allan, Ian McLaren and Gary Hamilton.
Saturday minor singles winners were Ron Hale def Rod Sutton and Pat O’Connor def John Gemmell. Wednesday social and Saturday cashpot triples are on this week names in by 11.30 12.30 start.
