Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt and neat shorts/slacks. No tank tops or singlets

A Reminder that Port City greens and spectator areas are smoke free.

Congratulations to our ladies grade 1 pennant team who lost their first sectional game to the eventual winners , Cabramatta, but then won all their remaining games.

Entries for the 2017 club minor pairs are now open. Entries close August 26th, first round Saturday 2nd September.

Champion of Club Champions ( singles)  is currently being played at Port Panthers Hibbard. Our club champion Callum Murray defeated H. Katala (WLG) 31-29 in the first round. He was successful in the 2nd round, defeating H. Aladjadjian (SH) 31-25. As I write this report he is playing N. Williams (Com) in the semi final.

The other semi is between R. Stone (Kpy) and C. Howard (KH).

News flash – Callum defeated Craig Howard 31 – 19 in the final. Another great result this year for Callum.

The Champion of Club Champions (pairs) will continue at Hibbard next weekend with our Danny Barrett/Greg Brims to play B. McPherson/J. Steel (MKS) in the first round on Saturday.

Port City is hosting the State Interzone Championships ( along with Westport) Saturday 9 – 10- 11 September. There will be some high quality bowls being played. Section 1 comprises zone 4, 6, 7 and 16. Section 2 zones 2, 10, 11. and 14.

The zone 14 side is –
Jack Lewis – Kent Price – Craig Donaldson – Peter Taylor.
Barry Smith – Greg Keft – Phil Baker – Greg Brims.
Greg Powick – Peter Stockham – Rocky Stone – Bruce Anderson.

Come along and enjoy the bowls or alternatively if you have a few hours to spare volunteer as a “helper”. See one of the committee as to what is involved.

The new winter jackets have arrived – they look smart too. See Phil Baker to buy one ( They are currently on special for a short time )

The PCMBC bowls calendar for July/ August  is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on our bowls web site under “Calendar 17”.

Don’t forget the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at 7pm.  Ask for our special deals when buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery. Also club ltd badge draw at 7 and 8 pm currently stands at $2000.

Jackpot $260 was not won.

Sunday: No luck for Jennifer Munson with the jackpot.
