News from Port City - WBC

The news report from the Port City Women's Bowling Club for the week ending Tuesday 4th April, 2017 is now available.

View the report below with thanks to Gail Carmody, Publicity Officer.
Tuesday 4th April  2017  HAPPENINGS

It has been all over the place with the weather but results have been happening.

We had 28 social bowlers and 3 SINGLES matches were played.  Although there was a short rain delay in all games everyone soldiered on.

Pennants

Pennant matches were played at Lake Cathie.  The 2's won a hard fought game 4-1, this result has given them the pennant.  The 3's have also won the pennant. Congratulations to both the 2's and 3's.

The 4's also played down at Lake Cathie but unfortunately they went down by 1 shot.  This puts the 4's in second spot with 2 rained out games to play.  The 1's play their last round on Thursday at Westport.  This is a definite must win situation.  We wish the girls all the best in their upcoming games.

Club Competitions:

Results of the Singles matches played were as follows:

Natasha Walsh vs. Betty Hodgson (winner Natasha)

Chris Errington vs. Robin Kean (winner Chris)

Judy Scholz vs. Debbie Amor (winner Debbie)

If you are involved in the Singles, please continue to check the board because with the rained out pennant games the draw is all over the place.

Daily Prizes:  We have now introduced a jackpot every Tuesday.

Ladies now pay an extra $1.00.  Today the winning rink was Chris Errington, so she had her chance to win the jackpot which starts at $100 and will be capped at $600.  If it gets that far it will be drawn until won.  The jackpot did not go off this week.  Next week we have no winners and losers but we do have lucky envelopes/numbers (the same as Sunday, plus the chance to win the jackpot).

Consolation Winners:    Betty Hodgson, marker Faye Schollum
Runners Up:     Barbara Owens, Di Smith, Faye Walsh
1st :     Chris Errington, marker Helen Cooper

Upcoming Competitions:

Easter Ladies Triples Carnival - Saturday 15th April 2017, 2 games of 18 ends.  Entry fee $45 per team, closing date 7th April 2017

Club Pairs:  Opened 28th March and close on 18th April 2017.

Many happy returns to any members having a birthday this week.
