Vale Greg Kelly
I was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Greg Kelly this week.
I have had contact with Greg for years with the mutual interest of bowls news on the web. Greg, assisted by his son Ashley, produced what I would consider the best bowls news web site in Australia. Initially listed as the Tweed Head Bowling Club site then later as Lawn Bowls on the Internet.
Coverage of bowls news extended from world events to major events at a club level. Greg would help us locally by posting scoring and photos of club tournaments and major events in our area.
Some years ago when Port City held a major singles tournament Greg suggested that we have a "live scoreboard" on the Latest Bowls News blog. Thanks to his promotion of the tournament and the scoreboard we had over 550 "hits" during the afternoon - an all time record!
Rest in peace Greg, you will be missed.
