Report from Lake Cathie - MBC

The news report for the week ending Sunday 5th March, 2017 from the Lake Cathie Men's BC is now available.

The latest news report follows with thanks to Ray Downes.

Ken Pritchard has booked a spot in the final of the Minor Singles Championship to play Phil Smith. Congratulations to both players, I look forward to what should be a great final.

In the Major Singles game, Steve Grimshaw upset last year’s champion Bob Fischer and he goes through to the next round as does Neil Proctor.

Pennants results yesterday were rather mixed; Grade 3 lost to Hat Head 1-9; Grade 4 won against North Haven 8-2; Grade 5 lost to Westport 0-10; Grade 6 won against Port City 9-1 and Grade 7 lost 1-9 to Kew. Next week it will be wins for all grades!

On Monday, the team of R. Anstee, R. Graven and W. Byers were the grinners and the grinning losers were Ivan Bozanic, Ron Campbell and Ron Morris.

Winners on Thursday were Bob Ruming, Roy Williams, Vic Austin and Gary Knox. Runners up were Vic Ley, Ivan Bozanic, Ron Morris and Reg Penney. Lucky losers were Graham Platt, Peter Teiffel, Graham Howard and Bruce Saunders.

The winning team on Saturday’s social play was Harry Hicks, Vic Ley and Terry Stringer with Vic Austin and George Butlin lucky losers.
