Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt and neat shorts/slacks.

New Port City bowls cloths have arrived. They cost $5 each. See Phil to purchase one.

Club Championships.

The triples semi finals sees D. Barrett play M. Rand and M. Bayes to play P. Baker.

Minor singles, Paul Webster is through to the final to play the winner of S. Matheson and C. Thornton.

Major pairs, entries are open and close 17th April

Round 2 of the pennants.

Results as follows –

Grade 1 – v P. Beach W 10-0 (84.45)  1st in section
Grade  2 – v PP L 1.5 – 8.5 (53-57) 1st in section ( top 2 progress)
Grade  3 –v HH L 1-9 ( 58 – 62) 2nd in section ( top 2 progress)
Grade  4 – v LC  W 9-1 ( 66 – 52) 1st in section (winner progresses)
Grade  5 – v WP W 9 – 1 (67 – 58) 1st in section ( winner progresses)
Grade  6 – v  Kew L 1 – 9  (45 – 76) 4th in section ( winner progresses)
Grade  7 – v  LC L 2-8 (52 – 57) 1st in section ( winner progresses)

Note on Tuesday afternoons starting at 2.30 there will be pennant training drills with thanks to Geoff Mitchell and Mike Rand

NSW State Zone 14 triples – Southern section played at Kempsey Heights. Congratulations to the teams of J. Hrabak – P’ Baker – B. Anderson and B. Stewart – C. Murray – J. Lewis who have both made it through to the semi. The semi and the final will be played at Kempsey Heights on Sunday 19th March. Let’s hope it’s an all Port City final.

There are now three TV monitors on the wall in the bowls area. All now are up and running, although the honour  boards are being thoroughly checked for errors etc. Well done to Paul Webster.

The Easter carnival this year starts on Easter Saturday 15th April with ladies triples, Sunday is mixed triple and Monday is men’s Pairs.

There will be a handicap triples May 9th to 11th

The PCMBC bowls calendar for March and April is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on our bowls web site under “Calendar 17”

Don’t forget the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at 7pm.  Ask for our special deals when buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery.

There are no Saturday afternoon social bowls during the pennant season.

Sunday: 52 bowlers on a bright Autumn afternoon.
Jenny Wallis took home the $360 jackpot.
