Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt and neat shorts/slacks.

The 2017 pennant season got under way on Saturday (4th) with Port City successful in 6 of the 7 grades.

Results as follows –

Grade 1 – v Kew  W 56 – 55 ( 8.5 – 1.5)
Grade  2 – v Wau  W 55 – 53 (9 – 1)

Grade  3 –v KH W 79 – 47 ( 10 – 0)
Grade  4 – v Kew  W  53 – 42 ( 9 - 1)

Grade  5 – v Com W 63 – 50  (9 – 1)
Grade  6 – v LC  L  48 – 57 (1 – 9)

Grade  7 – v WP W 58 – 43 (9.5 – 0.5)

The club triples semi finals are between D. Barrett  V M. Rand and M. Bayes V P. Baker.

The club singles also at the semi final stage with Steve Matheson to play Chris Thornton and Paul Webster to paly Paul Jacobsen

The zone 14 Dooker- Eggert trials are at Kempsey Heights on 12th March at 8.30 am

The Port City players selected in the Open section are J. Hrabak, G. Keft, P. Baker, G. Grims, P. Jacobsen and J. Lewis.

In the over 60’s section we have I. Binder, B. Anderson, K. Paulsen, D. Ramsay and B. Stewart.

There are now three TV monitors on the wall in the bowls area. During the course of this week our IT guru, Paul Webster will run through what we can expect to see on those monitors.

The Easter carnival this year starts on Easter Saturday 15th April with ladies triples, Sunday is mixed triple and Monday is men’s Pairs.

There will be a handicap triples May 9th to 11th

The PCMBC bowls calendar for February and March is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on our bowls web site under “Calendar 17”

Don’t forget the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at 7pm.  Ask for our special deals when buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery.

Wednesday: Winners ($15) D. Dickman – T. Smith – I. Binder. Runners up ($10) A. Buss – E. Munro – B. Knight. Consolation ($7) S. Clancey – M. Rand – C. Thornton. S. Kelly missed the $600 jackpot.

Thursday: Winners ($15) C. Marr – B. Orr. Runners up ($10) T. Scholz – J. Keller. Consolation ($7) K. Travers – M. Rand. Don Ramsay took home the $220 jackpot

Friday: Winners: ($15) G. Ball – J. Cranna – C. Halls. Runners up ($10) B. Kemp – E. Faulkes – S. Harris. Consolation ($7) B. Crewe – B. Grant – D. Keller. Bob Kemp missed the $600 jackpot

There are no Saturday afternoon social bowls during the pennant season.

Sunday: Jackpot of $312 was not won by Hazel Durrant.
