Minor Singles finalists Ken Pritchard and Phil Smith (Winner) with President Gary Blackler
Phil Smith is our 2017 Minor Singles Champion after an entertaining match against Ken Pritchard on Sunday. Both players showed determination and skill as you would expect in a final, and right to the end it was anybody’s game. Congratulations to both players for fine display of bowling as it should be.
During the week both
Phil and Ken won through to the next round of the Major Singles as did Frank
Ryan, Geoff Worley, Ray Stokmanis, Neil Proctor, Ray Downes, Rob Eldridge,
Graeme Bateman, Gary Knox, Gary Russell, Tom Reeves and Warren Jamison.
Round 2 Pennant
results; Grade 3 against Kempsey Heights won 10/3; Grade 4 against Port City
lost 1/9; Grade 5 against Comboyne lost 0/10; Grade 6 against North Haven won
9.5/0.5; and Grade 7 against Port City won 8/2.
The March Classic Pairs
on Wednesday was well attended; the new format of three games of 12 ends is
proving popular. H. Burrows and D. Gemmel took out first prize. I. Binder and
T. Smith came second and P. Jacobsen and P. Smith were third.
