Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt and neat shorts/slacks. No tank tops or singlets

New Port City bowls cloths have arrived. They cost $5 each. See Phil to purchase one.

Club Championships.

The triples semi finals sees D. Barrett play M. Rand and M. Bayes to play P. Baker. The semi and the final will be played on Sunday 26th March

Minor singles, Paul Webster is through to the final to play the winner of S. Matheson and C. Thornton.

Major pairs, entries are open and close 17th April

Round 3 of the pennants. All zone 14 were washed out and have been rescheduled for Sunday 9th April. Keep your eye on the notice board for teams, times etc.

Note on Tuesday afternoons starting at 2.30 there will be pennant training drills with thanks to Geoff Mitchell and Mike Rand

Following the recent trials held at Kempsey Heights the following Port City players have been selected in the 2017 Dooker – Eggert shield to play zone 14 bowls association at Taree Leagues on 2nd April.

Jack Lewis will lead for Peter Taylor, plus the team of John Hrabak – Greg Keft – Phil Baker skip Greg Brims.

In the seniors ( over 60’s) for the millennium shield, Ian Binder will lead for Bruce Anderson and Ken Paulsen 2nd for Bryce Stewart. In the challenge shield team for junior bowlers, John Page and Bohdi Parsons have been selected.
Congratulations to all those players.

There are now three TV monitors on the wall in the bowls area. All now are up and running, although the honour  boards are being thoroughly checked for errors etc. Well done to Paul Webster.

The Easter carnival this year starts on Easter Saturday 15th April with ladies triples, Sunday is mixed triple and Monday is men’s Pairs.

There will be a handicap triples May 9th to 11th

The PCMBC bowls calendar for March and April  is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on our bowls web site under “Calendar 17”

Don’t forget the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at 7pm.  Ask for our special deals when buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery.

Social Bowls:

Please note we would encourage social bowlers be back in the club by 4pm to allow for a timely presentation and raffles. No dead ends.  Thank you for your co operation.

Wednesday: Rain,rain and more rain.

Thursday: Winners ($15) M. Rand – D. Dickman. Runners Up ($10) T. Mallia – A. Fakes. Lucky losers ($7) P. Brady – K. Henwood – J. Gibson. The $315 jackpot was not won by Tommy Smith

Friday: We managed 14/15 ends before the rains came.
Winners: ($15) T. Mallia – M. Rowsthorne – J. Murton. Runners Up ($10) B. Stewart – J. Hrabak. Lucky losers ($7) J. Piola – M. Hayes.
John Kellor managed to miss the jackpot when he picked the wrong number between 1 or 2. Jackpot $600 this week.

There are no Saturday afternoon social bowls during the pennant season.
