Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt and neat shorts/slacks. No tank tops or singlets

Club Championships.

The triples semi final the team of G. Keft – G. Brims and D. Barrett defeated M. Parry – R. Cheswyn and M. Rand 24 to 16 to advance to the final

Minor singles -  Steve Matheson is the new champion defeating the gallant Paul Webster 31 – 20 in the final

Major pairs, entries are open and close 17th April

Round 4 of the pennants. (round 3 washed out, to be played Sunday April 9th)

Note on Tuesday afternoons starting at 2.30 there will be pennant training drills with thanks to Geoff Mitchell and Mike Rand.

Bryce Stewart – Callum Murray – Jack Lewis have won the zone 14 Southern section triples and now progress to the zone final.

Following the recent trials held at Kempsey Heights the following Port City players have been selected in the 2017 Dooker – Eggert shield to play zone 14 bowls association at Taree Leagues on 2nd April.

Jack Lewis will lead for Peter Taylor, plus the team of John Hrabak – Greg Keft – Phil Baker skip Greg Brims.

In the seniors ( over 60’s) for the millennium shield, Ian Binder will lead for Bruce Anderson and Ken Paulsen 2nd for Bryce Stewart. In the challenge shield team for junior bowlers, John Page and Bohdi Parsons have been selected.

Congratulations to all those players.

There are now three TV monitors on the wall in the bowls area. All now are up and running, although the honour  boards are being thoroughly checked for errors etc. Well done and thanks to Paul Webster. The counters, display case etc should be installed in the next month.

Friday April 7th is the annual Mayor’s Bowls day.

The Easter carnival this year starts on Easter Saturday 15th April with ladies triples, Sunday is mixed triple and Monday is men’s Pairs.

Veterans Day is Thursday April 20th, bowls at 9.30 followed by lunch

There will be a handicap triples May 9th to 11th.

Travelling Bowlers next game in on Sunday 9th April. Brekky at 8.30, bowls at 9.30. Cost $15.

The annual Marine rescue Day is on 4th June.

The PCMBC bowls calendar for March and April  is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on our bowls web site under “Calendar 17”

Don’t forget the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at 7pm.  Ask for our special deals when buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery.

Friday: The rains came back

There are no Saturday afternoon social bowls during the pennant season.

Sunday: Today’s bowls were sponsored by The Stocklands Group who donated $500 in prize money today. Stockland own a number of retirement villages in Port Macquarie, including Parklands ( cnr Central road & Hindman St). A new bowling green has just been installed and invitation is extended to “roll up” on Tuesday 11th April at 11am with a free sausage sizzle.

Another Sunday bowls will be sponsored by Stockland in the near future.  In partnership with Stockland we were also joined today by RDNS home care.
