HAPPENINGS

Thanks to all those who made donations to our farmers appeal today. Your kind donations along with the proceeds of our wrong bias tin will go to the BUY A BALE Charity. This drought appeal campaign is providing meaningful support for farmers by delivering hay and other essential items to those who have no feed left for their cattle.

We had a great turnout of 50 players today.

Congratulations to B Schubert and team, today’s winners of the Club triples semi-final. They came from behind to win, defeating B Barrett 20-18. It was a very close contest indeed. The Final will be held this Thursday 9 August between B Schubert and M Tyree.

There are plenty of bowls opportunities on offer in the coming weeks; Westport Triples Carnival is coming up on 15 & 16 August. Kew Gala day is also approaching on 21 August as well as Master pairs held in Maclean in November. Similarly Port City’s Turnaround Triples held in September is coming up fast. It’s time to get your names down and help raise money for our district. Entry forms are in the locker room folder. Check the notice board.

Nominations for Major Minor Pairs close next week. Single entries will be taken and the draw will be random. You are a major if you have won a Club, District or State Championship.

New light weight jackets are now on sale, if you are interested in purchasing one, the order sheet is on the notice board. Approximate cost is $65
