Kew Men’s Bowls News.

Saturday the first of September the Kew Country Club will hold a bowls for bales day to help raise funds for our drought affected farmers $12.50 per person that includes a sausage sizzle. Start time 9.30 for a 10am start every dollar raised will go to support our farmers this is an initiative of Rotary of Laurieton in conjunction with Rotary of Narrabri. Book at KCC on 65594203.

Don’t forget the Monday monthly pairs on the 3rd of September grab a mate and have a go the jackpot is worth $700 and the prize money is $700 come along and enjoy the friendly club.

Tuesday afternoon saw a terrific game of triples Bill O’Donnell, Gary Hamilton and Kevin Wholohan came from 7 shots down with 2 ends to play to defeat Phil Collins, Gary Martin and Les Morrison they still led by three with one end to go but Bill, Gary and Kev were up to the task and scored 4 shots on the last end to record a 1 shot win.

The minor singles is progressing well with some top quality games being played Peter Laing def Bob Sims, Trevor Robb def Ian Hodgkinson, Stewart Wellard def Ron Hale, Pat O’Connor def Warren Barnes and on Saturday morning Trevor def Adrian Hilton.

Wednesday social and walking out the door with the cash was Arthur Threadgold, Harvey Pearce and Rocky Davis, the runner up prize went to Alf Salter, Warren Bates and Barrie Isaac. Voucher winners were Stewart Rogan, Gary Hamilton, Ian (Paris) Hilton, Geoff Rose, John Ockers and James Race.

Wednesday social and Friday jackpot triples are the bowls this week names in by 11.30 12.30 start both days mufti dress all welcome.
