Kew Men’s Bowls News.

Leslie Faulstone and Charles Doyle are the major minor champions for 2017 in a hard fought battle against Frank Raczka and Terry Miles the game went down to the last end with the scores locked at 16 all and was not decided until the final bowl was played Leslie and Charles held on to win the match 18/16 against two very worthy opponents in Frank and Terry.

Monday monthly pair’s results and taking home the light bill money in 1st place Andy Lloyd and Gary McLachlan, 2nd Phil Baker & Mike Rand, 3rd Gary Hamilton & Rocky Davis, 4th Les Allport & Graham Conin and 5th Dave Napper & Terry Miles. Well done lads see you next month.

Wednesday social and picking up the cash were Peter Richards, Frank Raczka and Howard Burrows, the runner up prize went to Steve Hall and Pat O’Connor. Voucher winners were Ian Poole, Charles Doyle, Tony Austin, Rocky Davis and John Gemmell.

Saturday morning saw the second semi-final in the mixed pairs Jean Donald and Bill O’Donnell went into bat against Doreen Barr and Reggie Robb and what a game it was with the score changing all through the contest and with the score locked after the 21st end an extra end was needed to find the winner Jean and Bill got the required shot to take the win and their place in the final against Leonie Murphy and Dean Gemmell.

Saturday cashpot triples winners 1st Chicka Thompson, Doug Long and Wayne Thrussell, 2nd Jerry Ludford, Ray Allan and Barrie Isaac, 3rd Jimmy Race, Adrian Hilton and Ian Hilton. Vouchers went to Paul Hancox, Gary Martin, Cliff Kerr and Terry Stringer.

Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th of November is the weekend of the Kew Men’s Classic Triples if you haven’t already entered a team now is the time as the sheet is almost full.

If you haven’t put your name on the pennant list and you are intending to play pennants please do so as numbers are required for the grades the club will enter.

Don’t forget to put yourself and partner on the list for the Presentation Day Christmas Party on Saturday the 9th of December starting at 3pm.

Wednesday social and Friday jackpot triples are the bowls this week mufti dress names in by 11.30 12.30 start both days all welcome.
