Weekly News

We had 58 players turn up today for a great day for bowls.
Welcome to our new player Sue Sheddon and what a pleasure to see Maureen Cutting back on the green.

The first round of Minor singles was played today. Winners were J Knight,
W Kennedy, S Willis, M Halliday, L Palmer and R Kean. Many thanks, to the umpire and the markers. Could the winners please check the board for details of your next draw.

Nominations for Minor pairs are now open. Please place your $10 per team entry fee in an envelope for the match committee.

Melbourne Cup day is nearly here (Nov 6) it should be a great day with a mixed triples format. Finger food is provided and there are plenty of prizes to be won. The cost is $10 and play starts at 10 am.  See Phil in the bowls office if you’re interested.

Beth Schubert is taking Christmas cake orders they are $33 each the sheet is in the locker room.

Pennant trial day will be held on Saturday 10 November. The $10 fee includes lunch. The sheet is on the board.

George and Matilda open pairs will be played on the 4th Thursday of every month. Phil in the bowls office can help if you are a single entry.

Two Clubs will be visiting Port City this weekend. Players from Beresfield will be here on Saturday 27 October play will begin at 1pm.  Players from Forster will be here on Sunday 28 October with a 9:30am start. The fee of $10 on Sunday will include lunch. The sheet for Saturday’s game is on the board and put your name in the usual folder for Sunday.

Encouragement Day 4s is coming up 27 November, flyers for are pink and are now available.

Selectors are having a Pennant trial day to get a feel for team structure. Please support this new initiative. Pennant day trials begin at 9:30am on Saturday
10 November. Cost is $10. There will also be two more after Christmas.
Hastings District has changed due to the disbandment of Macleay District. New additions to our district are Kempsey, Hat Head and Crescent Head.
New Shirts have now arrived. Short sleeve is $45 and long sleeve $49
