Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt and neat shorts/slacks. No tank tops or singlets

Bowls Facebook page has been updated. We now have bowls streamed “live” from Port City. Listen to Phil “the Ray Warren of bowls” Baker call the shots

 A Reminder that Port City greens and spectator areas are smoke free.

Please note that as of today (Monday 21st) the greens will be going out for their annual refurbishment (starting with green 2) this means there will be limited rink space for the next few months. During this period we will be playing mainly 2 bowl triples

The NSW Fire & Rescue successfully completed their state titles at Port City last week – even though the weather was a bit “iffy”. We look forward to seeing them again next year. Results and photos are on our web page.

We recently held a bowls for bales day for our farmers and the final tally was that $7800 was raised on the day.

Next episode of the George & Matilda open pairs tournament will be held on Thursday 25th October. There will be no social bowls.

Corporate jack attack new season runs Oct 26 to Nov 23. Entry $75 per team will be donated to the Hastings cancer trust in association with Octobra.

The 2018 men’s major/minor pairs final Craig Ainsworth defeated Matty Carter 21 – 17.

In the mixed pairs quarter final Phil Baker def Tony Mallia with the defending champions lucky to get away with a win. Other match ups J. Whelan V C. Ainsworth, M. Parry V R. Chetwynd, J. Hrabak V L. Palmer .

Pennants 2019, doesn’t it come round quickly !!! Nomination forms are at the bowls counter. Please complete this to assist the selectors.

Melbourne Cup, Tuesday 6th November- Mixed triples 10 am to 12.30, followed by nibbles etc. Sheet is on the board.

Saturday 27th October we are hosting travelling bowlers from Beresfield and Park Beach starting at 1pm. It will be mixed triples and a sheet is on the board.
  
Don’t forget the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at 7pm.  Ask for our special deals when buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Coppy’s butchers Block.

Social Bowls

Friday:
A rather abbreviated social bowls report this week.
Winners ($20) George Moss. Runners Up ($10) Joe Piola. Lucky losers ($10) Tommy Smith. The big news of the week Ron Osborn picked the right number to relieve the treasurer of the $1000 jackpot.

Sunday afternoon mixed triples:
Lucky envelopes to – G. McKay, B. Burge, W. Evans, G. Gower, N. Optiz and J. Knight.
Raffle winners – L. Scholz, C. Tyler and L. Hardingham.
Great to see Leigh returning to his favourite mixed bowls.

This Sunday (28th) bowls will commence at 9.30 am and will be followed by a free lunch. If you turn up at 12.45 you will not get a game
