 Weekly News

There was a great turnout of 58 players today. Two Championship games were played alongside our normal social games. The Semi-final was won by K McFarlane who will go into the Final. The Quarter final was won by E Ramsay who will play
M Doyle this Thursday 11 October.

The open day last Sunday was a great success. Thank you to all those members who participated and helped out.
Nominations for Minor singles are now closed. Play will commence at 9 am on
23 October. Check out the draw on the noticeboard.

Melbourne Cup day is nearly here (Nov 6) it should be a great day with a mixed triples format. Finger food is provided and there are plenty of prizes to be won. The cost is $10 and play starts at 10 am.  See Phil in the bowls office if you’re interested.

Congratulations to Fay Schollum, Lyn Zahra and Sue Wood for making it to the Champion of Champion pair’s competition.

Meals on wheels are looking for volunteers; see Robin Biddle for more information.
Beth Schubert is now taking Christmas cake orders they are $33 each the sheet is in the locker room.

Donate your unwanted bras for Octobra. Port City will donate $1 for every bra placed in the barrel.  Monies raised will be donated to the Hastings Cancer Trust to the women’s refuge an all Bras will be donated to  the Port Macquarie Women's and Children's Refuge.

The Maclean masters has been cancelled, it was to be played in November.
George and Matilda open pairs will be played on 25 October. Phil in the bowls office can help if you are a single entry. 

There are a couple of carnivals coming in our district, Pink Panthers day at Port Panthers 17 October and North Haven Riverview carnival 30/1 November. It’s important to support our local clubs and you will have a fun day away.
