LAKE CATHIE MEN’S BOWLING CLUB
WEEK ENDING SUNDAY 3RD JUNE
It was a shame, but the winter rain washed out the pennant games to-day. Rather ironic, as it was meant to be a re-play of the washed out Round 1. Washed out it will remain, and the points will be shared.
Our Grade 3 teams are doing well, leading the competition comfortably. On Saturday they won 9-1 against the Panthers. Grade 4 went down to Crescent Head 1-9; Grade 5 lost to West Port 0-10; Grade 6 lost to Kew 1-9; and Grade 7 had a win against West Port 8 1/2-1 ½.
On Monday Helene and John White teamed up with Bob Kohut and collected the winning rink trophy. Peter Ascot-Evans, Anne Armstrong and Veronica Stewart were the lucky losers.
Thursdays’ winners were Steve Philp, Ralph Crawford and John Kennett; Runners-up were Geoff Worley, Keith Woods and Hubert Hopitz; lucky losers were Bill Bailey, Derek Wright and George Ganic.
Bob Fischer and Peter Slattery won on Saturday while Les Perry and Tony Owens didn’t.
