It’s all go at Port City bowls – As well as our usual social bowls through the week Tuesday to Sunday, there are twilight bowls on Thursday evenings and the new season of Jack Attack has started on Friday evenings. Various pennant trials for the men and for the ladies their pennants is already under way.
The prestigious men’s singles is up to the quarter finals. Results are in the weekly newsletter.
Congratulation to the team of Phil Baker/Callum Murray and skip Craig Donaldson who defeated the West Port team in the final of the state triples (S.S.). They will now play Park Beach (winners of the N.S.). The winners to go to the state play offs.
Port City are hosting the 2018 state pairs championship zone 14 S.S. ( Southern Section). Play commences on 24/25 February.
On the same weekend Port City also has representatives in the state senior pairs played at North Haven, and in the President Reserve Pairs at South West Rocks.
The Marine Rescue Port Macquarie are conducting a raffle with the prize being a set of bowls, any size/colour/ brand. Tickets cost $5 and are available at the bowls kiosk. The raffle will be drawn on the Marine Rescue Bowls Day on 25th March.
Easter Carnival – March 31 – April 2nd.
2 bowl handicap triples – May 16 – 18th
Port Macquarie mixed pairs – June 8 – 9-10.
Jax Tyres Grade 6 & 7 2 bowl triples, June 15 – 16 -17
Port Kia Prestige Pairs – July 11 – 12 – 13.

The calendar for February and March is on the notice board. If anyone requires the full year calendar, please see Phil.
Pennants 2018 – Starting date is April 28th. The draw is available on Zone 14 web site.
Green fees for pennants/trials have been set at $5.
Approved Club Championships 2018. There is a notice on the board,” Format & entry requirements”. Please read this carefully as there have been a number of changes.
