Port City WBC Weekly News 4th April

Chairman of the Board, Reg Lucas, addressed the ladies today and reminded them of the Extraordinary General Meeting to be held at the Club, on Sunday 6^th April at 9.00 am. If attending, please enter by the Main Door.

Social Bowls were played Tuesday 1^st April, as well as three rinks of Singles Championships.

Carol White d Faye Schollum, Carol Bowman d Judy Scholz, Lynne Thompson d Mary Bennett. Lynne has now progressed to the Finals. Carol Bowman will play Carol White in the Semi-Finals.

Club Pairs closed today at 11.00 am and the draw is on the board. Play will commence on Tuesday 15^th April.

Lucky Rinks – 1^st Prize – Loris Muir, Eleanor Russell, Beth Hicks. 2^nd Prize – Lynne Thompson, Carol Banks (Championship Rink). Consolation – Mary Bennett (Championship Rink).

Raffle Winners – 1^st Joyce Ebbeck, 2^nd – Marion Miller.

50’s Club Winners – 1^st Marion Miller, 2^nd Judy Scholz, 3^rd – Eleanor Russell

Ladies who celebrated birthdays this week were June Edward and Zelle Cook.

We wish any ladies who are unwell a speedy recovery and a return to the bowling greens soon.

Veterans’ Day is on 7^th April at the Westport Club.

Club Fours open on 15^th April and will close on 6^th May and commence on 20^th May.

There is still time to enter the Four Day Easter Carnival and we need entries for the Mixed Fours to be held on Good Friday.

Entry forms are available at the Club for the Toohey's Versatility Fives. Entries close on Friday 23^rd May and play will be on Monday 2^nd June and Tuesday 3^rd June.
