Port City Men's Bowling Club news report for the week ending Sunday 27th April.
Friday was Anzac Day and a service was held on the greens at Port City which was well received. “Lest we Forget” until next year.

Another fabulous day to be on the greens. Social Bowls were played, as

Brilliant weather again today in Port Macquarie for the Port City Easter Men's Pairs. With an excellent field once again for the tournament they played 3 games of 12 ends with scoring on wins then margins.

What a great day for bowls! The Port City Easter Carnival started today with mixed fours with all teams enjoying the competition and fine conditions. Scoring will be posted when it becomes available.

Our local paper, the Port Macquarie News, has published an article today covering the recent Extraordinary General Meeting at the Port City Bowling Club. The turnout for the meeting confirmed the high level of interest in the future of the club.

Round 7 of the LNC District Men's Pennant will be played tomorrow, weather permitting.
With only a few rounds to go now is the time to give your best guess who will win the coveted Grade 1 crown in our district. - see the poll on the right and cast your vote.
Last weekend I spotted an advertisement for Paddo Bowls. After Googling Paddo Bowls I found their site and found it interesting in that it appears the club has the so called Barefoot Bowls only for the younger crowd.
There may be a few good ideas for our local clubs who have now expanded their bowls program from the traditional structured bowls. Click here to view their site.

The Final of
the Club Singles was played between Lynne Thompson and Carol White. Carol has
won the Club Singles for the last three years, so this was going to be a real
tussle. Lynne got
away to a good start, but at one stage it was 12 all. Lynne finally triumphed,
winning 25 to 22. Well done to both of you.

Round 6 of the Men's Pennant was played today with sunny skies initially but it was completed under rainy conditions at Port City. Scores for home games were as follows:

today and reminded them of the Extraordinary General Meeting to be held at the
Club, on Sunday 6th April at 9.00 am. If attending, please enter by
the Main Door.
As a result of a petition from members the Board of Port City Bowling Club has given notice of a General Meeting to be held on Sunday 6th April at 9:00 am at the club.
The business of the meeting, in summary, is to vote on the removal of all directors and, call for nominations for a new board from the floor. The detailed notice, and statements from some of the directors, has been forwarded by post to all members.
