Port City WBC Weekly News 27th March





The weather was fine for our Ladies Social Day and the playing of pennants.
President Barbara welcomed the visiting Pennant Teams from North Haven, Lake Cathie and Westport. Grade 1 Port City def Westport - Grade 2 Port City def Westport, Grade 3 Lake Cathie def Port City, Grade 4 Port City (1) def North Haven (1).

The first round of the Club Singles was played on Thursday 20th March. Results as follows – Jennifer Munson WOF Lois Bishell, Carol White def Margaret Doyle, Faye Schollum def Margaret Walsh, Jenny Wallis WOF Hazel Durrant, Judy Scholz WOF Maureen Cutting, Carol Bowman def Barbara Owens, Debbie Amor def Lorraine Cannon, Mary Bennett def June Edward, Carol Banks WOF Beth Schubert, Judy Brady def Ella Wright.
On Saturday 22nd March Lynne Thompson def Hannah Clohesy, Faye Schollum def Jenny Wallis.
President Barbara announced that Ingrid and Bill Code had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary and read out a Thank You card from them both.
Birthdays celebrated this week were Morgan Solman-Stewart on 26th March, Lorraine Conroy on 27th March and Norma Schwartz and Marlene White on 30th March.

Club Pairs entries close next Tuesday 1st April at 11.00 am. Play will commence 15th April.
Robyn Biddle announced that Port City raised $1,913 in the Relay for Life.

80’s Club Winners – 1st Elaine Taylor (Westport) 2nd Carol Bowman,
3rd Eveline Ramsay, 4th Brenda Burge.
