CONGRATULATIONS

To Margaret Doyle for being the Runner-Up to Jenny Roberts from Lake Cathie in the State Singles.
To Lynne Thompson and Carol White for being Runners-Up in the State Pairs to Jenny Roberts and Judy Blackler from Lake Cathie.
Also to Greg Brims from Port City and Jenny Roberts from Lake Cathie on winning the Australian Open Mixed Pairs at Darebin last week.

District Pennants started last week and we wish all our players good luck.

UPCOMING EVENTS

We look forward to welcoming our non-playing members to Morning Tea next Tuesday, 11th March.

Entries for the Clubs Singles will close today at 11.00 am, and will commence 18th March.

Club Pairs will open 11th March, will close 1st April and will commence 15th April.


Veteran’s Day will be held at Westport Bowling Club on 7th April. The Entry Form is on the Board and names will need to be down by 11th March. This is a great day and District and the host clubs put a lot of work into making it so enjoyable.

To be eligible you only have to be over the age of 70.

EASTER CARNIVAL

Our Four-Day Easter Carnival will be held from 18th to 21st April.
Events are as follows.
Good Friday - Mixed Fours, Easter Saturday –
Ladies’  Pairs, Easter Sunday – Mixed Triples, Easter Monday –
Men’s Pairs.

ANZAC DAY – FRIDAY 25TH APRIL

There will be a game of Mixed Bowls on Anzac Day starting at 1.00 pm. More details lateR


SATURDAY SOCIAL BOWLS

For the next few weeks the starting time for Ladies Social Bowls on Saturdays will be 9.00 am, instead of 9.30 am, due to the playing of the Mens’ Pennants.

COACHING
Margaret Doyle and Shirley Devine run coaching classes on Friday mornings at 10.00 am (weather permitting) and you are encouraged to take this opportunity to improve your bowls. Everyone is welcome, you don’t have to be a pennant player.

CONDITIONS OF PLAY - item 7 mistake in scoring

“If during the course of the game, or at the conclusion before the cards are signed, a mistake is discovered and the opponents cannot agree, then the umpire shall be called and if no resolution is found, the end where the mistake occurred shall be declared a nil score end (tied end) and the cards adjusted accordingly.”
