Port City WBC April Newsletter

What a wonderful win for our Grade 2 (1) in the pennant this year. Congratulations to the teams - Jennifer Munson (skip) Judy Scholz Norma Schwartz Eveline Ramsay - Debbie Amor(skip) Carol Bowman Barbara Gunn Fay Schollum. Well done girls and good luck and good bowling in the Regional Play-offs at our Club on 15th/16th May.

The BA Logo is to be worn on Shorts and Trousers by JANUARY 2014 for ALL STATE SANCTIONED EVENTS AND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS NOT CLUB SOCIAL BOWLS.

The new Blue Books are available by ordering from Secretary Judy - cost $5 - by Friday 20th April. Umpires will receive a copy but if you wish the book can be downloaded from the internet.

COMING EVENTS

Handicap Triples to be played on Tuesday 10th April - handicaps to equal the number 9 - please put your entry into the box - no entry fee - and cross your team's names off the list.

Club Pairs - entries close on Tuesday 10th April with play on 24th April.

State Fours and Senior Fours - ENTRIES have already closed with play on 17th April.

Regional State Singles - to be played at Taree Leagues on 16th April - Carol White will be participating and good luck Carol.

Regional State Pairs - to be played at Westport on 26th April - Janine Stockham and Morgan Solman-Stewart competing - good bowling girls.

Versatility 5's - entry forms are already in the folder - 30/3lst July teams of 5 - a great two days of bowling.

COCA COLA TRIPLES EVENT - 24th/25th/26th September - $45 per team entry fee.

Woolworths have advised that they have reviewed their policy re vouchers and are again accepting our vouchers for $15 - $10 - $7 and $5.

The non playing members morning tea will be held at the Club at 10.30 on Tuesday 10th April. Looking forward to seeing you all for a cuppa and a chat.

It was with a great deal of sadness that we farewelled one of our most loved and admired members on Tuesday 27th March. Ivy Cooper was indeed a wonderful stalwart at our Club and throughout her bowling career won many championships.

They who bring beauty to the lives of friends
Need no tribute from recording pens
Their deeds are painted as a rare piece of art
On the enduring canvas of the human heart.

Thank you to all the girls who participated in the recent Relay for Life. Robyn reports that over $2000 was raised. Well done girls.

A very Happy Easter to everyone and if you are taking a short break please drive safely - we need every one of you to make this Club the great Club that it is today.
