Dress code for
social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt
and neat shorts/slacks. No tank tops or singlets

Reminder that Port City greens and spectator areas are smoke free.
Minor Pairs –
some great bowls and a few surprises. In the semi finals Col Marr def Chris
Thornton and Barry Smith def Mike Rowthorne.
The final was
played in very warm blustery conditions and the team of Ken Lipscombe and Barry
Smith handled the conditions a little better than Mark Husband and Col Marr
winning 19 – 10.
In the major /
minor pairs first round winners were G. Light, P. Baker , J. Lewis , M.
Rowthorne, G. Brims, K. Ashdown, M. Parry and C. Murray.
The semi finals
are P. Baker V J. Lewis and G. Brims V M. Parry.
Pennants 2018.
It is a long way off ( April 2018) but the chairman of selectors ( Sir Robert Crombie)
has asked ALL intending players to complete the nomination forms so all bowlers
can be registered with the royal. Even if you can only play part of the season.
Club LTD – As
the original ballot was declared null and void a new ballot is required. This
will take place starting Friday October 6th and continue until
Thursday October 12th. The
original 6 candidates will stand so please don’t forget to vote when the time
comes.
Bowls for Boobs
– raising awareness for breast cancer. This will be held Friday October 13th
starting at 6 pm and continue through Saturday 14 th October finishing at 6 pm.
“Jack Knockers V Bowls Bazookas”. 24 teams are required at $75 per team,
register at reception. There will be lots of giveaways and prizes.
The PCMBC bowls
calendar for September/October is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on
our bowls web site under “Calendar 17”.
Don’t forget
the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at
7pm. Ask for our special deals when
buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery. Also
club ltd badge draw at 7 and 8 pm currently stands at $2500.

is available on Saturday and Sunday mornings ( bowls provided). Contact the
