Port City Men's July Newsletter


The Port City Men's Bowling Club newsletter for July 2017 is now available with thanks to Colin Halls.

A reminder that Port City is a non smoking venue. It is Illegal to smoke on the greens or on the surrounds to the greens.
The men’s club by laws as relates to dress code, is now posted on the notice board
A coach will be running from the club to take players and supporters to Wagga for the grade 2 state play offs. The coach will leave on Thursday 3rd August. See Phil for booking.
For grade 1 playing at Cabra Vale, players and supporters are making their own way. See Phil if you are going and require accommodation.
The following Port City players have been selected in the zone 14 side Pat Geary Memorial Open against zones 2,6 and 15 at Soldiers Point B.C. on August 12 – 13: Jack Lewis, John Hrabak, Greg Keft, Phil Baker, Greg Brims, Barry Smith and Bruce Anderson. Michael Brennan is reserve.
The new jackets are in – see Phil to purchase one while they are on special.

BPL ( Bowls Premier League) Cup is coming to Port City. This is a pathway event, giving players a chance to progress through regional, state and national levels. Commencement date is August 27th. A flyer is on the board, see Phil for further info.
The men’s club AGM will be held this Saturday 22nd July at 9.30 am.

The  much anticipated 3rd round of the club singles was washed out- check the board for new dates.

The Port KIA 2017 prestige pairs has been run and won. Mark Parry and Steve Clancy tried to lead all the way, unfortunately lost the last game. Major winners were-
1st Phil Baker/John Hrabak with 7 wins – 1 draw – 51 margin
2nd Peter Taylor 7 wins 74 margin
3rd Mark Parry / Steve Clancy 7 wins 41 margin.

They were the only 3 teams to complete 7 wins.

A Members Constitution Forum will be held at the club on Wednesday 26th July at 7 pm. A booklet is available at the bowls kiosk.
