WESTPORT WOMEN’S BOWLING CLUB

REPORT FOR TUESDAY 30th May, 2017

TUESDAY MORNING MIXED BOWLS – Tuesday bowls - 9.30am start – Uniform or neat casual. Welcome all members and visitors to this competition. Come along and enjoy a pleasant morning of bowls with a happy group of players. Margaret and Ron Coombes can be contacted on 6581 3264 or 0422816063 if you would like to come and enjoy a morning game of bowls. All visitors welcome. Bowlers to meet upstairs at the Club in the Community room before bowls. Winners were Col Anthers, Carol Chandler, Paul Fraser and Alan Kesby. Raffle winners Col Anthes, Bill Farrell and Carol Chandler. No Jackpot winners.

REPORT FOR THURSDAY 1st JUNE, 2017

THURSDAY MORNING LADIES DAY – 9.30am start –Uniform. Selectors for Thursday June 8th Carol Owen (0405417994) and Leonie Laws (0422496128).  Water and flag roster Bev Cross and Colleen Watt. Thank you to Debbie from Perfect Nails by Debbie for her ongoing support. Winners on rink 9 were Leonie Laws, Glad Flockton and Jan Fleming. Runners up also on Rink 9 were Marcia Glover, Ruth Creed and Maureen Madeley. Raffle winners were Pauline Hanneybel (Nails), Hilary Smith, Betty Oliver and Colleen Watt. 100 Club winners Loraine Condello, Shirley Devine, Maureen Madeley, Carol Chandler and Betty Oliver. No Jackpot winners.

1.  First round of the Major Fours on Wednesday June 7.
2.  Committee meeting Thursday June 15.
3.  Our AGM Thursday July 13.
4.  Gala Day Thursday July 20.

ONE DAY AUGUST CARNIVAL:

PORT PACIFIC MIXED PAIRS CARNIVAL:

What a wonderful carnival this weekend with players from 16 clubs attending.  The weather held out on both days, the greens were at their usual best and the meals on both days were excellent. Thank you to all who helped make this carnival such a great success. Dave Griffiths, a splendid job helping us organise this event. Brian, thank you or entering the photos and results in the Latest Bowls News. Over all a great effort from all concerned.
