Reminder that Port City greens and spectator areas are smoke free.
Pennants:
The draw for
the grade 1 state playoffs has been made, and Port City has been drawn in
section 4 along with Kingscliffe Beach, Warilla and Maitland City. The first
game is on Friday 4th August against Maitland City at Cabra Vale
diggers.
A sheet is on
the board for those interested in travelling on the coach to support the boys.
Also on the
board is a sheet for those interested in going to support grade 2 to Wagga for
their tilt at the flag.
Bruce Anderson
and Ken Paulsen have been chosen in the selection trial for NSW senior state
side at Cabramatta July 17-18
Congratulations
to Jack Lewis who has been selected for the state under 25’s to play Queensland
later this year.
In the zone 14
southern section NSW state pairs Greg Brims/Danny Barrett have made it through
to the semi finals to be played at Kempsey Heights on June 24th.
The NSW state
singles zone 14 southern section is being held at Port City starting weekend of
8-9 July. The draw is on the notice board. Markers are required.
In the grade 6
and 7’s completed over the weekend in rather cold and damp conditions the
composite team of Dave Stamel, Steve Lingard and Bryan Doyle ran out winners
with a maximum of 8 wins and a margin of 68. The other major winners were the
Merrylands team of Paul Inglis, Rich Mulgeron and Peter Bungate with 8 wins and
a margin of 55. Coming in 3rd was a team from Westport Peter Walls,
M. Taylor and J. Lorentsem with 7 wins and a margin of 77.
We look forward
to seeing you all at next year’s event.
Entries are
open for the men’s 2017 major singles, with the first round to be played on
July 2nd.
Upcoming events
June 23 - 25 is
the Port Macquarie mixed pairs tournament. There will be no social bowls on
Friday 23rd.
July 12 to 14
Prestige Pairs, prize money of $6500
The PCMBC bowls
calendar for June/July is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on our bowls
web site under “Calendar 17”.
Prawn & Chicken
pennant thank you night is on Wednesday 28th June at 6pm. A sheet is
on the board for catering purposes.
Men’s club AGM
Saturday July 22. Preliminary notice is on the board.
Bowling
membership is now due. Renewals at the reception.
Don’t forget
the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at
7pm. Ask for our special deals when
buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery. Also
club ltd badge draw at 7 and 8 pm currently stands at $3500.
