News from Port City - MBC

Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt and neat shorts/slacks.

A Reminder that Port City greens and spectator areas are smoke free.

A Reminder also that Tuesday is ladies day, please guys no rolling up until after 2pm.

New Port City bowls cloths have arrived. They cost $5 each. See Phil to purchase one.

Next pennant trial for grades 2 – 7 is on Saturday 11 starting at 1 pm. Grade 1 play at SWR against teams from SWR, Kew and  Kempsey Heights, roll up at 8.45am.

The first championship for 2017 , the club fours has been won by the team of Ken Paulsen, Greg Keft , Danny Barratt and Greg Brims, who defeated the team lead by Jack Lewis.

Yesterday (Sunday) we attended a zone 14 meeting at Scotts Head. During a social game of bowls against Nambucca our esteemed SVP put down 3 wrong biases. ( eat your heart out Rivers.)

The PCMBC bowls calendar for February and March is on the board. The full 2017 calendar is on our bowls web site under “Calendar 17”

Don’t forget the men’s meat raffle every Friday, tickets available from 5pm with the draw at 7pm.  Ask for our special deals when buying tickets. Meat trays are proudly supplied by Wiggly Tail Butchery.

Please note we would encourage social bowlers be back in the club by 4pm to allow for a timely presentation and raffles. No dead ends Thank you for your co operation.

Wednesday: Winners ($15) Dave Lomas – Don Ramsay – Paul Webster. Runners Up ($10) Terry Schollum – A.J – Charlie Buchanan. Consolation ($7) Leigh Hardingham – Gary McFarlane – Sir James Cranna.
Dave Callanan left the $396 jackpot in the bank.

 
Thursday: Winners ($15) Brian Richardson – Brian Stokes. Runners Up ($10) Bob Crombie – Greg Keft. Consolation ($7) Brian Jux – Dave Wilson.
A.    J. made new friends when he took out the $450 jackpot.

Friday: N/A

Saturday afternoon bowls is on again starting at 12.30 pm with a jackpot.

Sunday: Another warm afternoon. The $228 jackpot was not won.
