LAKE CATHIE MEN’S BOWLING CLUB                     WEEK ENDING SUNDAY 26TH FEBRUARY, 2017

The Minor Singles Championship will soon be decided and with wins this past week, Ken Pritchard and Phil Smith are still in with a chance.

On Monday Ron Spinks, B. Veruylan and Graeme Bowers were the rink winners. Neil McCrackan, R. Wilfred and Danny Murray picked up the lucky loser’s prize.

Thursday’s winning team was Bob Ruming, Doug Porter, Vic Austin and Gary Knox. G. Henderson, Ron Allen, Phil Innes and Tom Reeves were runner-up winners while the team of Neville Wolridge, D. Myers, Jim McGill and Ken Pritchard were the lucky losers.

On Saturday, we had a trial pennant game against the Panthers, training for the start of the season next week which went well. The social game back at home base saw Neil Proctor, John Fuller and John Morgan winners and Ken Taylor, R. Craven and Graham Fairburn lucky losers.

Gary Knox has explained that under the Conditions of Play during Pennants, the third is no longer permitted to walk to the head. He is permitted to remain at the head while the opposition third plays his first short but cannot return. Mobile phones are banned with heavy penalties including forfeiture of the game if a player continues to use the phone after being warned.
