News from Lake Cathie - WBC

The news report for the week ending Sunday 12th February, 2017 from the Lake Cathie Women's BC is now available.

Margaret Duhigg & Jill Howard

Congratulations to Jill Howard our Under 3 Years Singles Champion for 2017 and Margaret Duhigg the Runner Up.  It was a good game to watch and the scores were very close at first but, ultimately, Jill pulled away  to win the match and the title. (More photos at end of report)

In the Minor Pairs Championship:  M Duhigg & G Webster def J Howard & V Hamilton;  B Roberson & M Kitcher def R Anstee & M Kelly;  L Moore & P Kelly def G Potts & P Banks – the twins who are celebrating a big birthday this week.  Hope you both have a great day.

Congratulations also to Di Fischer & Pam Begley for reaching the semi-final and Jenny Roberts & Jannette Sloggett the final of the District Pairs.  See the Hastings Haven article for a full report on the games.

On Tuesday the Rink Winners were Judi Blackler, Yvonne Howard and Chris Knox and, believe it or not, the Runners Up came from the same rink – Anna Innes, Helene White and Hazel Durrant.  Anna, Helene and Hazel are on a winning streak at the moment (3 times in a row) as along with June Wilson they were Saturday’s winning rink with Di Fischer, Dorothy Dow, Jenny Roberts and Chris Knox being the Runners Up.

Tuesday 28 February a Quarterly Meeting at 1 pm.  Tuesday 7 March Golden Girls and Trade Table.  The trade table would appreciate more goods to sell as stock is running low.

Tuesday 14 March at 1 pm – a special General Meeting re changes to the Club Constitution and By Laws – a quorum of 33% of members is required to approve these changes. 

 

 Monday 3 April Vets Day at Westport, morning tea is at 9.30 am.  This is a free morning of bowls organized by the District for our bowlers 70 years and older to thank them for their years of loyalty and support.  There is a list up on the Notice Board for those eligible to attend.
