Port City WBC Weekly News

Despite overnight rain Tuesday 15^th July turned out to be a great day for bowls. There was no wind and the greens were not so fast. Social Bowls was played, as well as the second round of the Club Triples.

Results of Triples as follows – Judy Scholz def Jan Gauld (sub Adriana Cutler), Beth Schubert def Pat Light, Margaret Walsh def Robin Kean, and on Saturday 12^th July Lynne Thompson def Joy Barry and Hannah Clohesy def Robyn Biddle. On Saturday 19^th July Judy Scholz will play Lynne Thompson and Hannah Clohesy will play Hazel Durrant.

 

Lucky Rink Winners – 1^st – Margaret Fowler, Gwen Hollis, Ann Kirk, Runners-up –Megan Hobson, Pat Morrison, Joan Bird, Consolation – Pat Corry (visitor), Maureen Orsulich, Rosemary Roach.

 

Raffle Winners – 1^st Margaret Fowler, 2^nd – June Edward.

50’s Club winners, 1^st Norma Schwartz, 2^nd Anne Connell, 3^rd Shirley Devine.

 

Minor Pairs opened 15^th July, will close 5^th August and will commence 19^th August.

Port City AGM will be held on Monday 21^st July, upstairs in the Functions Room, at 9.00 am. There will be some voting so please make every effort to attend.

Entries for Major/Minor Pairs are closed and play commences Tuesday 29^th July at 9.00 am.

Westport Triples Carnival will be held 6^th and 7^th August.

Our next Quarterly Meeting will be held on Tuesday 12^th August.
