News from the Port City Men's BC

Port City Men's Bowling Club news report for the week ending Sunday 20th July.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday A.M. saw another successful running of the Prestige Pairs. It was a highly contested event with Bruce Anderson & Wayne Buckley winning the event by 1 shot over Greg Brims & Kevin Wholohan. Third place Gordon McKay & John Williams, Fourth Place S Globits & P Stockham, Fifth Place D Barrett & P Barrett & Sixth Place R Brassey & B Prixdeau.

Day one winners G Worley & C Murray, Day 2 winners were D Mckinnon & P Stone & Day 3 winners were C Young & G Hayes.

Friday PM:- $15 R Carkeek & M Parry. $7 G Williams & B Bryson. The $600 jackpot was not won by D Moxon & P Flanagan. It will be $600 again next Friday & there will be 6 numbers to choose from.

Sunday P.M. :- Sunday afternoon social had to be abandoned due to the weather. Unfortunately it was even too bad for this hardy bunch but it will be on again next week.

Upcoming Events:- The State Grade 2 Pennant Playoffs are to be played at Port City on the 9th, 10th & 11th August. What an event to witness, come along & barrack for our home team. Also our No3 pennant team are in the playoffs and require our support.

For all the up and coming bowlers, there is free coaching available to everyone (12 year olds and above welcome). Just turn up to the bowls office Saturday mornings at 10:00 am
