Tuesday 29th July
was a lovely day for a game of bowls and 22 social ladies enjoyed a game of
triples and 1 rink of pairs. We had 2 visitors, Barbara Standen and Pat Corry,
we hope your enjoyed your day with us.
Ken Paulsen, Port City, has been selected to play in the Australian Senior Sides Championship. This championship will be played at one of Australia's top clubs, Tweed Heads Bowls Club, from October 7-10, 2014.

AAT Kings is running a promotion with a mobile lawn bowls bus. They will be in Port Macquarie on Monday 11th August in the town green area for only a short period 8:30 - 9:30 am. The following is a release from the tour group. Could be of interest for your "non bowling" friends and neighbors.
Bowls NSW is running the Aloha Barefoot Bowls - the unofficial World Championships again this year. I would encourage all clubs in our lower north coast area to consider this program as a great way to promote bowls and in particular barefoot bowls. The following provides additional details from the Association.

Only a few days away from the games and the format and initial matches for bowls are available. Channel 10 has the free to air coverage and let's hope we see some good bowls during the games.

We knew it was winter today and the bowlers were rugged up in woolen beanies and heavy jackets. After the final game four teams were on a maximum of 10 points with only 1 shot in the margin separating the first 2 sides.
Bruce Anderson & Wayne Buckley (Westport) took out the 1st prize with 10 points and a margin of +61.
Followed closely in 2nd was Greg Brims (Port City) & Kevin Wholohan (Kew) on 10 points and a margin of +60.

A perfect winter day in Port Macquarie for day 2 of the Port City Prestige Pairs. Games 3 & 4 were played with the final game 5 to be played Friday morning followed by the presentations at lunch.
With $1,500 to be won by the top team, tomorrow's play will decide the winners.
Despite overnight rain Tuesday 15th July turned out to be a great day for bowls.
There was no wind and the greens were not so fast. Social Bowls was played, as well as the
second round of the Club Triples.
The Port City Men's Prestige Pairs will be played on Wednesday 16th - Friday 18th July. With $5,400 in prize money there is an impressive list of entrants for this tournament.
Play continues today (Thursday) with the winners of the qualifying rounds playing 3 games in sectional play.

Play continued today (Wednesday) in the final qualifying round for the Park Beach Open Singles. Unfortunately non of our local bowlers won their section. Qualifying winners from all rounds will now compete on Thursday with the final to be played on Friday.

The LNC District singles continued Sunday with play at Port Panthers, South West Rocks & Kempsey Heights. This competition will see the finals played next Saturday 12th July.

Issue #43 of the Women's Bowls NSW E-News is now available. Click here to view. The dates for the 2015 State Carnival will be the 25th - 29th May, 2015 with Port City the host club.
Billed as the richest open singles in Australia this Park Beach tournament, with $30,000 in prize money, will be played from Monday 7th - Friday 11th July.
Several local players have entered to compete against a quality field.
On Tuesday 1st July we held our Out of Hat
Triples with 18 teams competing, playing two games each of 15 ends. It’s a very
levelling game with ladies of all different grades playing together.
Entries are open for the $1,050 Port Panthers Men's Encouragement Triples to be held on Saturday 26th July. Entries are restricted to No. 3 Pennant players and below. Non pennant players most welcome.
